Formerly small business genealogist, I now work at AncestryProGenealogists®, a division of Ancestry®. Please look there for excellent research results in genealogy! Should you choose to look for a genealogist there, and want a specialist in the Pacific States, be sure to ask for my name!
Areas of specialty:
California, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Northern New York. These are the starting points! The eventual results can naturally range far beyond, given traditional migration patterns in America.
Selected Case Studies:
Research which uncovered a Mayflower ancestor
Research for a client residing in California followed lines back to Massachusetts. Some ancestors for this family had sailed around the horn—and a write-up of the specific voyage was found. Even more exciting, it was possible to link names and dates to prove that the family had an ancestor who had arrived on the Mayflower. Direct descendants settled in Northern California.
Alta California families
This type of research involves looking at many old records, including mission records, histories, court records, records of land transactions and old census records, including the 1852 California census.
Records I have worked with extensively:
Historical maps, Drouin collection (Quebec and Ontario church records), California mission records, land claims files, court records, census records, naturalization records, biographies.
